
Pavia, 31 January 2025 – The calendar of events organized on the occasion of the Five Hundredth Anniversary of the Battle of Pavia, an epochal event that marked the history of Europe, is full of events including art, music, folklore, multimedia and with national importance. The first battle in which firearms were decisive for the final outcome and which opened a new chapter in the events of Italy and the Old Continent.

Mantua-Pavia, Fondazione Monte di Lombardia with Intesa Sanpaolo as main partner, and the University of Pavia in support as a member of the Promoting Committee and High Coordination, analyzes and recalls the historical event from multiple points of view with an in-depth analysis that goes beyond the borders of the province of Pavia.
From the multimedia exhibition on the battle, to the historical re-enactment with 500 people from all over Europe, to the concert with the Italian Army Band, to a major study conference to a special exhibition with extraordinary tapestries from the 1500s depicting the battle, Pavia is preparing to offer Italy an unprecedented vision of an event that stimulates us to consider the analogies with contemporary geopolitical challenges.
